Min des Arnavaux (France)

Expansion of the National Market with the construction of 3 activity buildings on the Min des Arnavaux site in Marseille.

These are activity buildings, with temperature-controlled buildings, divided into cells with a storage area:

• between 0°C and +7°C in the storage area.

• between +7°C and +12°C in the circulation area.

Perimeter temperature is maintained by Isocab By Kingspan Industrial IND Insulated Panel in different colours for the North/East/West façades and Decaroc Panel in a light grey colour on the ring road side; this South façade requires a EI120 rating (2-hour fire resistance).

The height of the cells was optimised on the inside by an isothermal ceiling made of Isocab By Kingspan Industrial IND Panel next to the isothermal panels on the façade.

This solution allows for an increase in internal operating space and savings by avoiding the installation of a partition wall at the edge.

The presentation of the preliminary project, both in terms of architecture and interior design, allowed Isocab by Kingspan to provide its expertise to the project manager and come up with a sustainable construction solution for a building with a positive temperature, whose exterior façades of different colours have different mechanics when exposed to the sun, which also had to be taken into account in the interior, given the juxtaposition of an isothermal ceiling. 

The perfect execution by a company whose core business is insulation made it possible to guarantee the temperature retention and fire protection of the EI120 façade while meeting the architect's expectations for this colourful building.
